三纲五常 sāngāng-wǔcháng

[the three cardinal guides (ruler guides subject, father guides son and husband guides wife) and the five constant virtues (benevolence;righteousness, propriety, wisdom and fidelity) as specified in the feudal ethical code] 封建礼教的道德准则。三纲:父为子纲、君为臣纲、夫为妻纲;五常:仁、义、礼、智、信

• 泛指我国封建社会所提倡的主要道德规范。
  

  《论语·为政》“ 周 因於 夏 礼” 何晏 集解引 汉 马融 曰：“所因谓三纲五常也。”

  明 朱有燉 《香囊怨》第四折：“你每这院里人，只知道迎新送旧，留人接客，是你每衣饭，那三纲五常的大道理，如何得知？” 梁斌 《播火记》三八：“三纲五常是维系社会的传统观念；仁、义、礼、智、信是人生哲学的根本。”
